The Carroll County Chamber of Commerce is hosting a trip to Cuba in the spring of 2014 -- and you're invited.

Chamber of Commerce President Mike McMullin said he's looking forward to "an awesome experience ... that's been closed to Americans for over 50 years."

The cultural exchange tour will cost participants just under $3,500 for the nine-day, eight-night trip. Check out the itinerary here.

The price covers meals, travel, day trips and hotel accommodations. Travelers will visit three cities in Cuba - Camaguey, Cienfuegs and Havana.

“I believe this cultural exchange tour will provide residents of Carroll County the opportunity to experience the charm of Cuba and its people in a way that’s unique and intimate," McMullin said.

McMullin added that the trip is open to anyone, not just Chamber members or Carroll County residents.

It’s also important to understand that you don’t need to be a member of the Carroll County Chamber of Commerce to accompany us on the tour," McMullin said.  "In fact, you don’t even need to be a resident of Maryland. Friends or relatives who live out of state can share this experience with local residents."
