The Cuban Kitchen. This 10-day trip is a cultural and educational journey that focuses on the Cuban family economy through conversations and visits with five families who will open their kitchens to reveal their culinary secrets. This people-to-people exchange program provides participants with a unique opportunity to experience Cuba through the eyes of the families as they prepare traditional Cuban recipes. As trip participants learn to cook a typical Cuban dish, they engage in meaningful interaction, learning about the intricacies of Cuban culture, a family’s daily life, and their challenges, struggles, expectations and dreams.

You will share lunch with the family, become involved in the process of finding the items needed to prepare dinner, and participate in the preparation of the meal. You will then sit at the table with all members of the family and share dinner. Cuban coffee and more conversation will bring the evening to a close.
